John Aldridge: I want to see Jurgen Klopp give this Liverpool signing a chance
The Liverpool legend would like to see Marko Grujic given a chance to shine in Jurgen Klopp's first-team
John Aldridge has urged Jurgen Klopp to give Liverpool signing Marko Grijic the chance to shine in his Liverpool team.
The Serbian midfielder has found his first-team opportunities limited since linking up with the Liverpool squad in the summer transfer window.
Grujic agreed a deal to become a Liverpool player in January before he was sent back on loan to his boyhood club Red Star Belgrade until the end of the 2015-16 season.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder has been limited to just two substitute appearances in the current Premier League campaign, while he started a 5-0 win at Derby County in the EFL Cup.
Liverpool suffered a blow last weekend after Philippe Coutinho sustained ankle ligament damage during the Merseyside outfit’s 2-0 win against Sunderland.
Former Liverpool striker Aldridge would like to see Jurgen Klopp give Grujic a chance to shine in the first team.
“There’s loads of games coming up and the manager will have to utilise his squad as best he can, he knows that. Marko Grujic looked very good earlier in the season so hopefully he will get a chance and other players as well,” Aldridge wrote in his Liverpool Echo column.
Liverpool added seven players to their squad in the summer transfer window after Klopp led the Reds to an eighth-place finish in his first season at Anfield.
