John Barnes makes prediction about Liverpool’s January transfer business

John Barnes is expecting Liverpool to make more signings than expected in the January transfer window

John Barnes is tipping Liverpool to make more signings than expected during the January transfer window.

The Reds head into the winter window in a good position in the Premier League table – they are currently in second place and six points behind leaders Chelsea in the top flight.

Liverpool were one of the Premier League’s most active clubs in the summer transfer window as Jurgen Klopp prepared for his first full season in charge at Anfield.

There is bound to be plenty of speculation linking Liverpool with a host of players during the coming days and weeks as the January transfer window draws ever nearer.

And Liverpool legend Barnes is expecting to see the Reds do more business than anticipated in the new year.

Speaking in an interview with The Daily Express, Barnes said: “I think Klopp will do more business than he anticipated.

“Now that we are so close to the top it’s worth spending money now in order to keep the pressure on.

“If you can get players now then why not?”
