Jordan Henderson: This Liverpool duo were fantastic at Everton

Jordan Henderson singles out Liverpool centre-halves Ragnar Klavan and Dejan Lovren for special praise

Jordan Henderson has heaped praise on Liverpool centre-halves Ragnar Klavan and Dejan Lovren after their performance in Monday night’s 1-0 win at Everton.

Jurgen Klopp’s defence has been heavily criticised in recent weeks and eyebrows were raised when Klavan was drafted into the Liverpool defence for the Merseyside derby in the continued absence of Cameroon international Joel Matip.

However, the Estonia international produced a composed performance alongside Lovren despite coming up against one of the Premier League’s leading strikers in the shape of Romelu Lukaku at Goodison Park.

Sadio Mane took the plaudits after the Senegal international scored a winner in the fourth minute of added time to seal a dramatic victory over their neighbours in the Premier League.

Speaking to Liverpool’s website following their memorable victory over Everton at Goodison Park, Henderson picked out Klavan and Lovren for special praise.

“The two centre-halves especially were fantastic. They were brilliant. I thought, to be honest, we defended well as a team throughout the game and we looked more solid which was pleasing,” Henderson said.
