Jose Mourinho issues warning to Tottenham ahead of Man United trip

Jose Mourinho warns Tottenham that Manchester United are determined to step up their performances

Jose Mourinho has warned Tottenham that his Manchester United players are determined to transform their strong performances into points ahead of Sunday’s showdown at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have struggled to produce consistent form in the Premier League in recent weeks and have only won two of their last 11 Premier League games.

The Red Devils were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw against Everton at Goodison Park last Sunday to leave them 13 points behind leaders Chelsea heading into this weekend’s round of games.

United are preparing to host Spurs at Old Trafford fresh from their 2-0 win over Zorya to secure their place in the last 32 of the Europa League.

And Mourinho feels that it is only a matter of time before the results start to follow the performances for United.

Speaking to United’s website after Thursday’s game, Mourinho said: “We have been playing well, that’s why our heads have not gone down. When you play well and you don’t win matches, you always have the hope the good results will come.

“The reality was, nobody was better than us, even when we had disappointing results. We have always been better than our opponents so we have never lost confidence.”
