Jose Mourinho opens up about Chelsea this season: This is what I really think

Jose Mourinho has his say about Chelsea's strong start under new manager Antonio Conte this season

Jose Mourinho admits that he cannot see Chelsea dropping too many points in the Premier League this season.

The Blues have been the standout team in the Premier League this term and have won their last 11 games on the spin to establish themselves as the firm favourites to win the Premier League title this season.

Mourinho was sacked by Chelsea back in December of last year after a dismal run of form left the Blues languishing closer to the relegation zone than the top of the table.

The Portuguese coach has since taken over at Manchester United but his Red Devils side have struggled to find consistent form in the Premier League and currently find themselves 13 points behind the leaders.

Mourinho feels that Chelsea are going to be very difficult to catch in the race for the Premier League title this season and does not envisage them dropping many more points.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Mourinho said: “It’s very difficult, you have to be honest and say that. Not just the difference in points, but also the Chelsea philosophy of play.

“They score one goal and they win, they defend a lot, they defend well, they are winning and in the last 20 minutes they bring defenders in, they don’t care what people say, what people think, they just want to win.

“And because of that, I don’t see them losing many points.

“It is mathematically possible [for United to win the league], but it is very difficult to happen for us. The difference is considerable.”
