Jose Mourinho reacts to Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s display in Man United’s win over Sunderland

Jose Mourinho has been delighted by Henrikh Mkhitaryan's upturn in form for Manchester United

Jose Mourinho could not hide his delight at seeing Henrikh Mkhitaryan continue his fine form for Manchester United by scoring a goal in Monday’s 3-1 win over Sunderland.

The Armenia international netted his second Premier League goal of the season as Mourinho’s men continued their improved form in the top flight.

The 3-1 victory was Manchester United’s fourth win in a row in the Premier League, with Mourinho’s side now looking to have found some consistent form in the top flight.

Mkhitaryan had made a slow start to life at Old Trafford following his summer transfer from Borussia Dortmund, but Mourinho has been delighted by the Armenian’s upturn in form in recent weeks.

Speaking to Manchester United’s website after the game, Mourinho said: “He has scored beautiful goals all his career.

“In this moment, [there are the] goals but also the defensive work and also creativity.

“And I’m so happy he came back after this injury and came back with his happiness and the feeling that the people at Old Trafford love him. That’s a very important thing for him.”

Manchester United now turn their attentions back to Premier League affairs and their home clash against Middlesbrough on New Year’s Day at Old Trafford.
