Jose Mourinho reveals his Man United January transfer plans
Jose Mourinho says he is calm about Manchester United's plans for the January transfer window
Jose Mourinho has insisted that he fully trusts his Manchester United squad and is not expecting to make many signings in the January transfer window.
It has been a mixed start to life at Old Trafford for Mourinho following his appointment as Louis van Gaal’s successor at Old Trafford back in May.
The Red Devils have struggled to maintain consistent form in the Premier League and find themselves a significant distance off the pace in the race for the title.
Manchester United have been praised for producing good performances but have failed to notch up consistent results under their new manager.
There is now bound to be plenty of speculation about who the Red Devils could sign in the January transfer window as the new year draws ever nearer.
However, the Manchester United boss was remaining typically coy when quizzed about his plans for the winter window.
Speaking at a news conference on Friday, Mourinho said: “I’m quiet and calm. I’ll see what happens.
“As I have said, I like to keep my squad the same, but as I told you and I repeat, as a manager I never feel that I have the right to stop people trying to be happier and trying to give a different direction to their careers.
“If the conditions are right for the club and that moment arrives during the month of January, then we will have to react. Let’s see what happens but at the moment, if you ask me if I am waiting for someone to be here on 1 January or if we are chasing some player because we want to have a new player here on 1 January, not at all.
“I like my squad, I trust my squad.”
Manchester United finished fifth and won the FA Cup last season.
