Jose Mourinho sends heartfelt message to Man United fans ahead of West Brom clash

Jose Mourinho thanks Manchester United fans for their support after their 2-1 win over Crystal Palace

Jose Mourinho has heaped praise on Manchester United’s fans for the support they have shown him and his team so far this season.

The Red Devils made it back to back wins in the Premier League on Wednesday night when they sealed a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace to keep pace with the top six.

Mourinho and his Manchester United side have come in for criticism this season for failing to produce consistent performances this term following the Portuguese coach’s appointment at the club in the summer.

However, the former Chelsea manager says that he and his players have felt the constant support of the Manchester United fans since his appointment at Old Trafford.

Speaking in an interview with Manchester United’s website after Wednesday’s win, Mourinho said: “They [the fans] were fantastic and they are fantastic every day.

“For the players, to win in such a difficult place is fantastic. For us it was difficult to arrive here as well.

“We took one hour and 50 minutes from the hotel to arrive here because the traffic was so bad.

“We arrived here at 7pm, everything was so quick because 10 minutes after we should have been in the warm-ups.

“Everything was difficult for us, too, because maybe we felt this empathy between the players and the fans.”

Manchester United will now turn their attentions towards preparing for their Premier League trip to West Brom on Saturday night.
