Jose Mourinho: This is how I’ve tried to change at Man United

Jose Mourinho reveals that he has been trying to change his approach at Manchester United this season

Jose Mourinho has revealed that he has been working on changing his team’s style of play to be more attacking since his arrival at Manchester United.

The Portuguese coach was appointed as Louis van Gaal’s successor back in May and is currently getting to grips with life as the Red Devils boss.

Mourinho has found himself under pressure in recent weeks following his side’s stuttering form in the Premier League.

The Red Devils have only won one of their last seven Premier League games and trail leaders Chelsea by 11 points after 13 games of the new season.

Mourinho watched his side return to winning ways on Wednesday night as they produced a free-flowing display to beat West Ham United 4-1 and reach the semi-finals of the League Cup.

And Mourinho has admitted that he has been working hard on developing a more attacking mindset since his arrival at Old Trafford.

Speaking to United’s website, Mourinho said: “The beauty of our attacking football is more of the same match after match but this time with goals, like against Feyenoord.

“One of the things I proposed to myself was to come to such a club like Manchester United who play the kind of football that people want, because it’s Manchester United tradition, so I’m really happy with that.”
