Juan Mata issues Man United rallying cry ahead of Tottenham clash
Juan Mata comments on Manchester United's recent struggles in the Premier League
Juan Mata has told his Manchester United team-mates that they have no time to dwell on their recent disappointing results as the hectic festive period looms large.
The Red Devils have struggled in the Premier League this season and again dropped points when they were held to a 1-1 draw with Everton on Sunday afternoon.
Indeed, Jose Mourinho’s men have only won two of their last 10 Premier League games to leave them 13 points behind Chelsea in the race for the Premier League title.
Manchester United are preparing to take on Zorya in their final Europa League group-stage game on Thursday night before turning their attentions towards their crunch Premier League clash with Tottenham at the weekend.
And Mata is certain that it will not be long before the Red Devils click into gear and find their feet under their new manager.
Writing in his personal blog, Mata said: “We have to look forward; complaining about the bad luck is not worth it. We must close the games and get what we deserve. That should be the only idea in our heads.
“We have six more games to complete a very busy December and close 2016, namely, Zorya, Tottenham, Crystal Palace, West Brom, Sunderland and Middlesbrough on New Year’s Eve.
“Three at home and three more away, although we don’t make any distinctions. We look at the best possible finish to the year and I’m sure we can do it.”
Manchester United finished fifth and won the FA Cup under Louis van Gaal last season.
