Jurgen Klopp delivers Liverpool transfer update ahead of January window
Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool are not guaranteed to be very active in the January transfer window
Jurgen Klopp has remained coy when quizzed about his plans for the January transfer window at Liverpool.
The Reds are bound to be linked with a host of new players in the coming days and weeks as the mid-season transfer window draws ever nearer.
Liverpool are flying high after a strong start to the season and are currently in second place in the Premier League table, six points behind leaders Chelsea.
Klopp is likely to be keen to bolster his squad next month to boost Liverpool’s chances of winning the title this season.
However, the German coach was giving little away when quizzed about his transfer plans for the new year.
Speaking at his pre-match media conference on Thursday at Melwood, Klopp said: “If we think we have to do something, if there’s the player that can help us, not only in January, March, April, May and the season after.
“Then we will do something. If not, then we won’t.
“I’m not sure it [January] will be important to us.”
Liverpool are currently preparing for their crunch Premier League clash against Manchester City at Anfield on Saturday night.
The Reds were 4-1 winners over Stoke City at Anfield in their most recent top-flight outing.
