Jurgen Klopp reveals his Liverpool January transfer plans
Jurgen Klopp tells Liverpool fans that he is already looking at possible recruits for the summer transfer window
Jurgen Klopp has told Liverpool fans that he is already looking at potential targets for the summer transfer window as he played down the chances of making any signings in January.
The Reds have made a strong start to the season under their new manager and currently sit second in the Premier League table.
Klopp is currently midway through his first full season in charge at Anfield after being appointed as Brendan Rodgers’ successor back in October of last year.
There is bound to be plenty of speculation linking Liverpool with a number of different players as the winter transfer window draws ever nearer.
However, the Reds boss has appeared to hint that he is not planning on making any signings in the new year.
Klopp is quoted as saying by Sky Sports: “I’m really happy with the squad. Of course, in this moment, Phil is not involved, from the beginning of January Sadio [Mane] will not be involved, but we still have options.
“We can change system, we can do a lot of things. The best thing would be that they are all here and we can play them all the time.
“We have two games and then a few more in January until the window is closing. You can be sure we are prepared, but that doesn’t mean that we do something.
“We are already looking for summer, that’s how it should be, and maybe we can bring these two windows together and do the right thing in the right moment. If not, we will not do it.”
Klopp is currently getting his Liverpool side ready for their Premier League clash against Stoke City at Anfield on Tuesday night.
The Reds are six points behind early leaders Chelsea.
