Liverpool join PSG in the race to sign Germany forward – report
Liverpool are thought to be interested in signing Julian Draxler, according to reports
Liverpool are set to rival Paris Saint-Germain for the signature of Julian Draxler, according to reports in the British media.
The Times are reporting that Jurgen Klopp is an admirer of the Germany international as the Liverpool manager looks to bolster his attacking options in the January transfer window.
The same article states that Draxler’s transfer fee could prove a stumbling block after Wolfsburg paid £30m to sign the attacking midfielder from Schalke in the 2015 summer transfer window.
The 23-year-old has made two assists in 13 Bundesliga appearances in the 2016-17 season so far as Wolfsburg continue to struggle in the German top flight.
Liverpool signed seven players in the summer as Klopp looked to stamp his authority on the Reds squad after their eighth-place finish in the 2016-17 campaign.
The 18-time English champions signed Sadio Mane in a £34m deal from Southampton in what was their most-expensive transfer of the summer.
Mane has repaid Klopp’s faith with a return of eight goals and four assists.
Liverpool are currently gearing up for their home clash against Stoke City on 27 December at Anfield.
