Liverpool told to forget about signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder
Borussia Dortmund have attempted to deter Liverpool for making an offer for Christian Pulisic
Liverpool would be wasting their time trying to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Christian Pulisic, according to the German club’s sporting director.
The Merseyside outfit were linked with a move for the highly-rated United States international in the summer transfer window but a transfer failed to materialise.
Pulisic has continued to impress in Thomas Tuchel’s Dortmund side in the current campaign after a return of two goals and four assists in 10 Bundesliga games.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder moved to Dortmund in 2015 while current Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was still in charge at Westfalenstadion.
However, Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has warned Liverpool to forget about signing the American midfielder in the January transfer window.
“We have communicated very clearly that we won’t sell Christian and that he’s very much part of our plans,” Zorc told Bild – as quoted by Liverpool Echo.
“Liverpool don’t need to waste their time.”
Liverpool finished in eighth place in the Premier League table last season after Klopp took over the reins from Brendan Rodgers back in October 2015.
The Reds signed seven players in the summer transfer window as Klopp looked to close the gap on their top-four rivals in the 2016-17 campaign.
