Ian Wright states prediction for Liverpool v Stoke City

The Arsenal legend doesn't expect Liverpool to drop any points at home to Stoke City on Tuesday evening

Ian Wright is backing Liverpool to secure three points from their must-win game against Stoke City at Anfield on Tuesday evening.

The Reds have managed to pick up six points from their last two Premier League games thanks to victories at Middlesbrough and Everton.

Sadio Mane scored a winner in the fourth minute of added time at Goodison Park last time out to seal a 1-0 victory over Everton in the Merseyside derby.

Liverpool are unbeaten in their home games at Anfield in the Premier League this season ahead of the visit of Stoke City in their first top-flight fixture after Christmas Day.

Mark Hughes’ Potters side have only managed to win twice in eight Premier League games on the road this season after a mixed season under the Welsh manager so far.

Speaking to The Sun Goals podcast ahead of the Anfield clash on Tuesday, former Arsenal striker Wright backed Jurgen Klopp’s side to get the job done against the Potters.

“I’m going to go with Liverpool to win. It’s a game Liverpool need to win if they’re going to stay in there and keep putting pressure on Chelsea. They have to win their home games,” Wright said.
