Jamie Redknapp states prediction for Liverpool v Stoke

The former Liverpool captain is backing Jurgen Klopp's men to beat Stoke City on Tuesday evening

Jamie Redknapp is backing Liverpool to get past a tricky Stoke City side at Anfield on Tuesday evening.

The Merseyside outfit have managed to rack up consecutive Premier League victories to ensure that Jurgen Klopp’s side will occupy second place on Christmas Day.

The Reds were 3-0 winners against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium thanks to goals from Adam Lallana and Divock Origi against the promoted side last week.

Liverpool made it back-to-back wins in dramatic style last Monday after a thrilling 1-0 victory over Everton at Goodison Park on Monday night.

Senegal international Sadio Mane netted a late winner in the fourth minute of added time to take his tally to eight goals in the 2016-17 season.

Former Liverpool captain Redknapp is confident that the Reds can make it three successive Premier League victories when Stoke City make the trip to Anfield on Tuesday evening.

“Philippe Coutinho is a player who they need back fit and firing in the New Year but with the positivity around the club I think they’ll have too much for Stoke on Tuesday night and keep up their challenge,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.

Liverpool have only lost two Premier League games in the 2016-17 season following defeats by Burnley and Bournemouth.
