John Aldridge states prediction for Liverpool v West Ham
John Aldridge believes Liverpool will return to winning ways against West Ham United
John Aldridge is backing Liverpool to return to winning ways against West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds suffered an embarrassing 4-3 loss to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium to leave Jurgen Klopp’s side four points behind leaders Chelsea.
The 18-time English champions have now lost two Premier League games in the 2016-17 season so far after a 2-0 defeat by Burnley at Turf Moor in August.
The Merseyside outfit went on an 11-game unbeaten run following their disappointing performance against Sean Dyche’s side.
Aldridge is optimistic that Liverpool can pick up a vital three points and restore confidence with victory over West Ham United.
“West Ham, Middlesbrough, Everton, Stoke. Then Manchester City to end the year. It won’t be easy, but it’s doable,” Aldridge told the Liverpool Echo.
“Focus on West Ham for now though, we need a big three points and hopefully consolidate the top four.
“I know we are capable of doing plenty in front of goal but first thing I would say is get a clean sheet, because a 1-0 win would be fine.”
Liverpool are four points behind Chelsea after Antonio Conte’s side were 3-1 winners against title rivals Manchester City at The Etihad on Saturday.
The Reds finished in eighth place under Jurgen Klopp last season after the former Borussia Dortmund manager took over the reins from Brendan Rodgers back in October 2015.
