Mark Lawrenson states prediction for Liverpool v West Ham
The Liverpool legend is confident Jurgen Klopp's side will return to winning ways at Anfield on Sunday afternoon
Mark Lawrenson believes Liverpool will return to winning ways in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon when West Ham United visit Anfield.
The Reds suffered a surprise 4-3 loss to Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth side at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday afternoon despite twice having a two-goal cushion on the south coast.
Liverpool are four points behind leaders Chelsea after their setback against the Cherries as the Reds look to recover from just their second Premier League defeat of the 2016-17 season.
The Merseyside outfit will be facing a West Ham United side that lost 5-1 to Liverpool’s title rivals West Ham United at the London Stadium last weekend.
Former Reds defender Lawrenson can’t see past a Liverpool victory despite their Premier League setback last weekend.
“Liverpool’s defeat by Bournemouth last week was a blow but I think it will just be a hiccup. The Reds are still a good side, and are still well placed at the top of the table,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.
Klopp led Liverpool to an eighth-place finish last season after he took over the reins from Brendan Rodgers back in October 2015.
