John Barnes is expecting to see Manchester City and Arsenal play out a draw in Sunday’s Premier League showdown at The Etihad.

The Gunners head into the game looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League after the disappointment of squandering the lead and losing 2-1 to Everton at Goodison Park on Tuesday night.

That defeat was only Arsenal’s second in the Premier League this season and their first since August but still came as a damaging blow to the Gunners’ title hopes.

City, meanwhile, returned to winning ways thanks to a 2-0 win over Watford in midweek as Pep Guardiola continues to get used to the rigours of the Premier League.

Liverpool legend Barnes feels that the game will be evenly poised and is expecting Arsenal and Manchester City to share the spoils at The Etihad.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with The Sport Review, Barnes said: “It’s a tough one for both teams.

“City haven’t really got that fluency and that relationship between attack and defence right at the moment.

“I think Arsenal could do well. It could be a very entertaining game because both teams are going to want to attack. Arsenal could get a decent result. I think it will be a draw.”
