Graeme Souness predicts outcome of Man City v Chelsea

The Liverpool legend is tipping Chelsea to beat title rivals Manchester City on their own turf on Saturday afternoon

Graeme Souness is tipping Chelsea to “do a number” on their title rivals Manchester City at The Etihad on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues have been in imperious form in the Premier League over the past two months since a 3-0 loss to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in September.

Chelsea have won seven successive Premier League games since their defeat in north London to leave the Blues a point ahead of second-placed Liverpool in the title race.

The west London side have beaten title rivals Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur during their winning run which has seen Conte’s side score 19 times and keep six clean sheets.

Manchester City, on the other hand, have managed to record just three victories in their last seven outings following a 2-0 defeat at Tottenham and stalemates with Everton, Middlesbrough and Southampton.

Former Liverpool captain Souness explained why he is backing Chelsea to secure an important victory over their title rivals at The Etihad in Saturday’s early kick-off in the Premier League.

“I can see Chelsea going there and doing a number on City. I do not think there will be any surprises from City, they will roll the ball out and build from the back and I can see Chelsea taking advantage of that and defending really well,” Souness told Sky Sports.
