Martin Keown states prediction for Man City v Chelsea
The Arsenal legend is tipping Manchester City to end Chelsea's winning run at The Etihad on Saturday
Martin Keown is backing Pep Guardiola to outwit Antonio Conte when Manchester City host Chelsea at The Etihad on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues will travel to Manchester full of confidence after a seven-game winning run in the Premier League that has left the west London side a point clear at the top of the table.
However, the Citizens are just a point adrift of the Premier League leaders and the Eastlands outfit have only lost one top-flight game since Guardiola took over the reins from Manuel Pellegrini.
Chelsea have beaten title rivals Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur during their impressive winning run, scoring 19 times and keeping six clean sheets in seven victories.
But Arsenal defender Keown believes Guardiola and his masterclass in tactics could prove the difference between Manchester City and Chelsea in the Premier League’s early kick-off.
“If you’re a connoisseur of football and tactics then this is the one to watch,” Keown told The Daily Mail.
“Conte knows the back three system better than any other manager on the planet but Guardiola is a great student of the game. He will try to put on a masterclass to outwit the Chelsea boss.
“I think City will win 2-1.”
Chelsea have lost to title rivals Liverpool and Arsenal in the Premier League this season before their seven-game winning run.
Manchester City, meanwhile, suffered a 2-0 defeat by Tottenham Hotspur at the start of October.
