Michael Owen states his prediction for Man City v Chelsea
Michael Owen looks ahead to Manchester City's crunch clash with Chelsea on Saturday
Michael Owen is tipping Manchester City to edge to victory over Chelsea in Saturday lunchtime’s crunch Premier League clash at The Etihad.
Chelsea head into the game as the Premier League’s form team, having won their last seven top-flight games to leave them top of the table and a point clear of second-placed Liverpool.
However, Antonio Conte’s men are set for a stern test of their title credentials when they take on Manchester City at The Etihad on Saturday lunchtime.
And former Liverpool and England striker Owen is tipping City to make home advantage count and take the three points against the west London side.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “What a fantastic start to the weekend.
“Chelsea go into the game top-of-the-table and if they are still there on Sunday evening you would have to say they ought to be clear favourites for the title.
“That said this is the acid test, and I think City will shade what promises to be a titanic battle.”
Chelsea are aiming to bounce back from the disappointment of their 10th-placed finish in the Premier League last season following Jose Mourinho’s sacking back in December.
