Man United eye double raid on Benfica for two defenders – report

Manchester United are eyeing Benfica duo Victor Lindelof and Nelson Semedo, according to reports

Manchester United are interested in signing Benfica duo Victor Lindelof and Nelson Semedo in the January transfer window, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mirror are reporting that the Red Devils are ready to offer £38m for the Sweden international as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his defensive options at Old Trafford.

However, the same article states that the Portuguese club could push the transfer fee up to £50m with over £12m add-ons in any potential deal that sees Lindelof move to Old Trafford.

The story goes on to report that Manchester United are also interested in signing Lindelof’s defensive team-mate Semedo on loan for the remainder of the 2016-17 season.

However, Benfica are thought to be unwilling to allow two first-team members to leave the Portuguese club in the January transfer window.

Manchester United signed four players in the summer transfer window after Mourinho brought in Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Paul Pogba and Eric Bailly following his appointment in May.
