Man United signing reveals he used to support Arsenal
Henrikh Mkhitaryan reveals that he used to follow Arsenal and his favourite player was Thierry Henry
Henrikh Mkhitaryan has revealed that he used to follow Arsenal as a child and was a particularly big fan of Thierry Henry.
The Armenia international is currently getting used to life in the Premier League following his arrival at Manchester United in the summer transfer window from Borussia Dortmund.
Mkhitaryan became the first Armenian player to score in the Premier League on Sunday when he netted the only goal of the game in Manchester United’s 1-0 win over Tottenham at Old Trafford.
However, the game ended on a low for Mkhitaryan after he had to be carried off on a stretcher due to an ankle injury.
Mkhitaryan has revealed that he was a keen admirer of Henry when the Frenchman was in top form for Arsenal and that he keenly followed the Gunners during that time.
Mkhitaryan is quoted as saying by Metro: “I always supported Henry when he was playing for Arsenal.
“He is one of my favourite players because at that time I was also playing as a striker as a child. Then I became a midfielder.”
Manchester United return to Premier League action with a trip to Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.
