Ian Wright states prediction for Man United v Sunderland

Ian Wright is backing Manchester United to ease to victory over Sunderland at Old Trafford on Boxing Day

Ian Wright is tipping Manchester United to ease to a 3-0 victory over Sunderland at Old Trafford on Boxing Day.

The Red Devils will be looking to record a fourth successive Premier League win to maintain pressure on the top four.

Jose Mourinho’s side are four points adrift of Arsenal who occupy fourth spot after back-to-back defeats by Everton and Manchester City.

Manchester United have one of the Premier League’s form strikers in the shape of Zlatan Ibrahimovic – the striker has scored 10 times in his last nine games.

Sunderland are in 17th place in the Premier League table after three defeats in their last five top-flight games.

Former Arsenal striker Wright is confident that Manchester United will ease past the Black Cats without any problem at Old Trafford on Boxing Day.

“At Old Trafford, with Manchester United in their current form, I think they’ll have too much. I’m going to go Manchester United 3-0,” Wright told The Sun Goals podcast.

Manchester United appointed Mourinho as their new manager in May after Louis van Gaal led the Red Devils to a disappointing fifth-place finish last term.
