Man United star Paul Pogba: I didn’t let girls get in the way of my football
Paul Pogba explains the secrets behind his mentality when he was developing as a young player
Paul Pogba has revealed that he did not let anything get in the way of his football during the early stages of his career – not even girls.
The midfielder is currently getting to grips with life back at Old Trafford following his world-record transfer from Juventus in the summer.
The France international is believed to be one of the highest-paid athletes on the planet following his big-money switch to Manchester United.
However, the midfielder has revealed that he made sure that he stayed completely focused on football during his time developing as a player.
Pogba is quoted as saying by The Daily Express: “I wasn’t really interested in girls. Only football.
“I was just enjoying football all the time. There was a five-a-side next to the flat and I used to play there all the time.
“It was all about football. I wanted to be a professional. That was my goal. I didn’t want to be anything other than a footballer.”
Pogba left Manchester United back in 2012 after being deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford by former boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
Jose Mourinho was quick to make Pogba one of his first signings at Old Trafford following his appointment as the club’s new manager back in May.
