Jamie Carragher states prediction for Man United v Tottenham

The Liverpool legend believes Tottenham will be confident of beating Manchester United

Jamie Carragher believes Tottenham Hotspur will fancy their chances of beating Manchester United at Old Trafford given the Red Devils’ recent home record.

The 20-time English champions have drawn their last three games in the Premier League to leave Jose Mourinho’s men a staggering 13 points adrift of leaders Chelsea.

Manchester United have played out stalemates with Stoke City, Burnley, Arsenal and West Ham United in their last four Premier League games at Old Trafford before a 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.

Tottenham, on the other hand, returned to winning ways on Saturday after Harry Kane scored twice in a 5-0 victory over struggling Swansea City at White Hart Lane.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men are in fifth place and six points ahead of Manchester United in the race to secure a place in the Champions League next season.

Former Liverpool defender Carragher explained why Spurs will be full of confidence heading into Sunday’s clash against the Red Devils at Old Trafford.

“Why not? [when asked if Tottenham can win] Manchester United are struggling at home. They’re not getting many wins there,” Carragher told Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football show.

“They’re dominating games but the quality of opposition apart from Arsenal. I think Manchester United and Spurs will be rivals towards the end of the season.”
