Marcos Rojo sets Man United target under Jose Mourinho: We must do this

Marcos Rojo wants Manchester United to end the season with a trophy under new manager Jose Mourinho

Marcos Rojo is hoping to help Manchester United end Jose Mourinho’s first season in charge at Old Trafford with a trophy.

The Red Devils are currently getting used to life under their new manager following the Portuguese coach’s appointment back in May.

It has been something of a mixed start to the season for the Red Devils, who currently trail Premier League leaders Chelsea by 13 points heading into the hectic festive period.

However, the Red Devils have shown some signs of improvement in recent weeks and have won their last three games in the Premier League.

But Rojo says that it is crucial for the Red Devils to end the season with a trophy as they prepare for their Premier League clash against Sunderland at Old Trafford on Boxing Day.

Speaking in an interview with Manchester United’s website, Rojo said: “I think it’s been an interesting year for me.

“Various things happened. I had the FA Cup win at United and then went on to the Copa America. Unfortunately, we [Argentina] weren’t able to win that but it was still an important moment for me.

“Now, at this time of the season, at the end of the year, we need to finish strongly and win as many games as possible. Looking towards 2017, we must play as well as we can and, hopefully, why not win a trophy at some point.”
