Martin Keown makes prediction about Arsenal and Liverpool’s title hopes

Martin Keown says that Manchester City are likely to be Chelsea's biggest challengers this season

Martin Keown believes that Manchester City hold the edge over Arsenal and Liverpool as Chelsea’s closest Premier League challengers this season.

Chelsea are currently leading the way at the top of the Premier League table after a brilliant start to the season under new manager Antonio Conte.

It remains to be seen whether the Blues can stretch their impressive form into the new year as they look to win the Premier League in Conte’s first campaign in charge in England.

Arsenal are preparing to take on Manchester City at The Etihad on Sunday afternoon, while Liverpool travel to bitter local rivals Everton on Monday night.

And former Arsenal defender Keown feels that Manchester City are likely to pose the biggest threat to Chelsea as the title race unfolds.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, Keown said: “The winner of Manchester City vs Arsenal on Sunday will have a huge say in who challenges Chelsea — although Conte’s side will be happy to sit back and watch their rivals knock lumps out of each other!

“If Pep Guardiola can find the right formula I feel City can go on an equally impressive run as Chelsea.

“Arsenal have got a chance but when they get a bad result it seems to affect the group a great deal.

“Liverpool need to work on their game management. It seems like they only know one way of playing.”
