Matt Le Tissier predicts where Chelsea will finish in the title race

Matt Le Tissier is expecting to see Chelsea win the Premier League title this season

Matt Le Tissier is tipping Chelsea to win the Premier League title this season – but warned that Manchester City could be their closest challengers.

The Blues have been the standout team in the Premier League this season and have climbed their way to the top of the table after a brilliant run of form under new boss Antonio Conte.

The west London side have won their last 11 games in the top flight on the spin to leave them six points clear of second-placed Liverpool in the table heading into the hectic festive period in the Premier League.

Chelsea are the clear favourites for the title, while Manchester City are currently in third place and seven points behind Conte’s leaders.

And although Le Tissier admits that Chelsea have been the strongest team so far this season, he feels that Manchester City could still have a big say in the title race this term.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Le Tissier said: “I backed Chelsea at the start of the season, purely for the fact they’ve got no European football to contend with.

“If Manchester City go far in the Champions League, I think Chelsea will win the title. If City were to go out in the first knockout stages, I think they’d have a better chance of winning the Premier League.”
