Matteo Darmian issues warning to Man United ahead of festive fixtures

Matteo Darmian comments on Manchester United's form ahead of the hectic festive period in the Premier League

Matteo Darmian has warned Manchester United that they must keep up their winning run in the Premier League ahead of the hectic festive period.

Jose Mourinho’s men notched up their third win in a row in the Premier League on Saturday night as Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored twice to fire them to a 2-0 victory against West Bromwich Albion.

Manchester United now turn their attentions towards preparing for their Premier League games against Sunderland and Middlesbrough at Old Trafford as Mourinho’s men look to continue their good form.

Mourinho has been tasked with steering Manchester United back into the top four this season and the Portuguese coach will be hoping to help his team continue their strong run over Christmas.

Speaking to Manchester United’s website after Saturday’s win, Darmian said: “Clean sheets mean a lot for us and we didn’t give them too many chances. We worked together at the back with a great team spirit.

“We deserved to win the game. We scored early and we controlled the game.

“It gave us three more very important points and a fourth win in a row. Confidence is high, each win gives us confidence to keep working and keep improving.

“We must continue like this and be focused over the tough festive period.”
