Mauricio Pochettino sends warning to Man United ahead of Tottenham clash
Mauricio Pochettino says that his Tottenham side are finally starting to click into gear this season
Mauricio Pochettino has warned Manchester United that his Tottenham side are finally starting to click into gear as they prepare for their Premier League trip to Old Trafford this weekend.
The north London side secured their place in the last 32 of the Europa League when they beat CSKA Moscow 3-1 at Wembley in their final Champions League game to seal a third placed finish in their group.
Tottenham have endured something of a stuttering start to the season and head into Sunday’s showdown with Manchester United at Old Trafford in fifth place in the table and seven points behind leaders Chelsea.
However, after having watched his side secure a 5-0 win over Swansea in the Premier League last weekend and then also beat CSKA Moscow last night, Pochettino feels that his side are finally finding form.
Pochettino is quoted as saying by The Daily Express: “We are starting to show our real quality. We struggled in the last month and a half because we have some problems, but we have all the squad nearly fit and we are stronger.
“You can feel the team is recovering that feeling that we can win every game. We have recovered that feeling maybe that we lost when it’s true, it was a bit of a struggle to compete.
“We need all the players fit to be strong and to compete in tough competitions like the Premier League and Champions League and it was unlucky that our struggle arrived in a busy period with important games.”
Spurs are aiming to build on their third-placed finish in the Premier League last season.
