Michael Carrick sends message to Man United fans ahead of Everton trip

Michael Carrick is feeling upbeat ahead of Manchester United's trip to Everton on Sunday

Michael Carrick has told Manchester United supporters to stay positive in the build-up to Sunday’s clash with Everton at Goodison Park.

The Red Devils head into the game looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League after their frustrating 1-1 draw against West Ham United at Old Trafford last weekend.

It has been far from a smooth start to life for Manchester United under their new manager Jose Mourinho.

The Red Devils have struggled to produce consistent form under their new boss and have only won two of their last 10 games in the Premier League.

That run of form left United trailing Premier League leaders Chelsea by a staggering 11 points heading into this weekend’s round of fixtures.

However, United midfielder Carrick feels that it is only a matter of time before the Red Devils finally click into gear under their new manager.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Carrick said: “It was never going to happen overnight, I don’t think we were ever going to suddenly move on so quickly – he [Ferguson] had been here so long.

“But there are certain signs that we are getting there, I can say that. I know we are well away in the league but there are signs that we can feel something is coming. But only time will tell that.”
