Michael Owen: I would have hated to face this Arsenal player

Michael Owen has admitted that he would not have enjoyed playing against Arsenal defender Gabriel Paulista.
The Brazilian has been drafted into Arsenal’s starting line-up after summer signing Shkodran Mustafi was ruled out of action for around three weeks with a hamstring injury suffered in the 3-1 win over Stoke City on Saturday.
Gabriel started alongside Laurent Koscielny in the heart of Arsenal’s defence as the Gunners took on Everton at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Tuesday night.
Former Liverpool striker Owen feels that Gabriel’s aggressive defensive style makes him a nightmare for opposition forwards.
Speaking on BT Sport before Tuesday night’s game, Owen said: “He’s a centre-half who I would hate to play against.
“He’s an aggressive centre-half who doesn’t give you a minute.
“I’d prefer to play against a big lad who struggles to turn but he’s so aggressive, almost like Martin Keown was in his day.
“He carries a risk playing like that, but it’s not nice to play against.”
Arsenal return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon with a crunch clash against Manchester City at The Etihad in their final game before Christmas.
The north London side are looking to win the title for the first time since the 2003-04 season this term after their second-placed finish last season.
