Michael Owen states his prediction for Middlesbrough v Liverpool

Michael Owen is tipping Divock Origi to help fire Liverpool to victory over Middlesbrough on Wednesday night

Michael Owen is tipping Divock Origi to fire Liverpool to victory over Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Reds head into the game looking to return to winning ways in the top flight after the disappointment of their 2-2 draw with West Ham United at Anfield last weekend.

Liverpool are now winless in two Premier League games after their shock 4-3 loss to Bournemouth earlier in the month.

However, former Liverpool striker is expecting the Reds to claim victory on Wednesday night in the Premier League and get their title bid on track.

Owen is expecting big things from Origi in the coming weeks and months for Liverpool.

Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “It seems almost inconceivable but Boro have conceded just once in their last seven home league games against Liverpool, although I do expect the Reds to buck that trend at the Riverside on Wednesday.

“Divock Origi is getting better game by game and has all the necessary attributes – pace, power and skill – to become a very special Liverpool player.”

Liverpool are looking to get their title bid back on track after the Reds finished eighth and without a trophy last season.

Jurgen Klopp was brought in as Brendan Rodgers’ permanent successor at Anfield back in October 2015.
