Neville makes ‘world-class’ claim about Man United signing

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is proving to be a world-class player for Manchester United, according to Phil Neville

Phil Neville believes Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still proving to be a world-class player after the Manchester United striker scored a late winner in a 2-1 victory at Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.

The 35-year-old centre-forward scored in the final minutes of the Premier League clash at Selhurst Park to seal three points and back-to-back top-flight victories for Jose Mourinho’s side.

Ibrahimovic has scored nine times in 15 Premier League appearances so far this season after the towering striker moved to the 20-time English champions in a free transfer from Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain in the summer transfer window.

The former AC Milan and Barcelona striker has also scored six times in the Europa League and EFL Cup this term to effortlessly make the transition to English football.

Speaking to Match of the Day on Wednesday night, former Manchester United defender Neville explained why he still considers Ibrahimovic to be a world-class player.

“This guy plays every minute of every Manchester United game, whether it be the EFL Cup or the Europa League. He travels to Russia, he comes back and plays,” Neville said.

“He’s phenomenal. I think he’s world class. That’s what world class players want to do. They don’t want to rest.”
