Pat Nevin: This is what pleases me most about Chelsea this season
Pat Nevin has his say on Chelsea's attacking options this season as the Blues continue their fine form
Pat Nevin believes that Chelsea’s diverse attacking options could be the key to their Premier League title hopes this season.
The Blues continued their fine form in the Premier League on Saturday when they came from a goal down to beat Manchester City 3-1 at The Etihad and keep their place at the top of the table.
Antonio Conte’s men have now won their last eight Premier League games on the spin to leave them three points clear of second-placed Arsenal after 14 games of the new season.
Chelsea are now widely considered to be one of the favourites to win the title this season despite their disastrous 10th-placed finish last term.
And former Chelsea star Nevin feels that it is the Blues’ different options in attack which makes Conte’s side such a force to be reckoned with.
Writing in his column for Chelsea’s website, Nevin said: “The real joy just now is that Chelsea seem to have forwards with the cleverness to break down packed defences but are also brilliant at breaking against pressing sides.
“It is a double whammy for opponents who are really finding it difficult to figure out how on earth they set up to beat us.
“No doubt Tony Pulis will try something special at the weekend with West Brom, but the way we are playing it will have to be extra special if it is going to stop the juggernaut that is the current Chelsea run.”
Chelsea return to Premier League action with a home clash against West Brom on Sunday afternoon.
