Two goals each from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Anthony Martial sent Jose Mourinho’s men into the last four of the competition, with the result also going some way towards easing some of the pressure on the United boss.

Manchester United have been struggling to produce consistent form in the Premier League in recent weeks and were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by West Ham last weekend.

Indeed, the Red Devils have only won one of their last seven Premier League outings as they prepare for their trip to Goodison Park on Sunday.

However, Herrera was clearly in good spirits on Wednesday night after playing his part in the League Cup win over the Hammers.

Herrera posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account after the game and wrote the caption: “Good win, nice result and we are in semifinals, well done guys 🔴 @manchesterunited”
