Shkodran Mustafi takes to social media to reveal his delight at being primed to make his comeback for Arsenal

Shkodran Mustafi has taken to social media to reveal his delight at being back in action for Arsenal ahead of the north London side’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

The German defender has been out of action since suffering a hamstring injury but returned to training with the Gunners and is expected to be available for selection when Arsenal host the Eagles on Sunday.

Mustafi earned plenty of praise for his performances in the heart of Arsenal’s defence alongside Laurent Koscielny following his summer transfer from Valencia back in August.

And the Germany international used his personal Instagram account to wish Arsenal fans all the best on New Year’s Eve.

Mustafi posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “More than happy to be back in the squad for tomorrow’s game! ⚽ This match is such a nice opportunity to start into the the year in a perfect way – But first of all I wish everyone a great New Year’s Eve! I hope 2017 will bring success, health and only the best for all of us! #ARSCRY #sm20 @arsenal”
