Ben Woodburn has taken to social media to reveal his delight at becoming Liverpool’s youngest goal-scorer on Tuesday night.
The teenager came off the bench to score the Reds’ second goal as Jurgen Klopp’s men beat Leeds United 2-0 to reach the semi-finals of the EFL Cup at Anfield.
Woodburn, aged 17 years and 45 days, took Michael Owen’s record as the club’s youngest goal-scorer with his strike.
And the teenager took to Instagram shortly after the game to reveal his delight at how the match unfolded.
Woodburn posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “What a night 😀⚽️❤️”
Liverpool will now turn their attentions back towards Premier League affairs and their trip to Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds are currently in second place in the Premier League table and just a point behind leaders Chelsea after 13 games of the new season.
