John Terry hands Chelsea an injury boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

John Terry has handed Chelsea an injury boost ahead of the visit of Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day.

The former England international has struggled to tie down regular first-team football in recent months under new manager Antonio Conte.

Terry hasn’t started a Premier League game since a 2-2 draw with Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium in September.

Chelsea have kept eight clean sheets in their last 11 Premier League games, with Cesar Azpilicueta, Gary Cahill and David Luiz forming the west London side’s back three.

However, Terry was excited to be back in first-team training after his gluteal strain kept him sidelined over the past few weeks.

Terry posted the above photo on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption:

“Great to be back training today @mbatshuayi ⚽️ @chelseafc”

Chelsea are sitting at the top of the Premier League table and six points ahead of their closest rivals Liverpool after 17 games.
