Chelsea's players paid their respects to the victims of the Chapecoense plane crash this week

Chelsea’s players came together for a moment of silence during their training session at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night to pay their respects to the victims of the Chapecoense plane crash.

The Brazilian club lost most of its players in a plane crash in Colombia on Monday, with only six of the 77 people on the plane, carrying members of the Chapecoense team, surviving.

There has been an outpouring of support for the victims and their families on social media following the crash in recent days.

And Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta took to social media to share a picture of himself and his team-mates observing a moment of silence during training at Stamford Bridge this week.

Azpilicueta posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “A minute’s silence before tonight training. #forçachapecoense #cfc”

Chelsea are currently gearing up for their crunch clash against Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
