Marcos Alonso headed back to London on Tuesday night after enjoying some time away from football

Marcos Alonso jetted back to London on Tuesday night after enjoying a short break away from football.

Antonio Conte gave his Chelsea players a couple of days off to wind down ahead of the hectic festive period in the Premier League in the coming days.

It has been a gruelling start to the season for the Blues, who are currently leading the way at the top of the Premier League table after winning their last 11 games on the spin in the top flight.

Alonso has been a regular fixture in the Chelsea team since his arrival at the club in the summer transfer window.

And the defender seemed to be happy to be jetting back to London on Tuesday night as Chelsea turn their attentions towards their Boxing Day clash against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.

Alonso shared the photo above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “Back to London. Batteries charged.🔋🔋🔌”
