Michy Batshuayi was happy to help Chelsea rack up 11 straight Premier League victories

Michy Batshuayi has spoken of his pride at playing a small part in Chelsea’s record-equalling 11-game winning run in the Premier League.

The west London side were 1-0 winners against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon thanks to Diego Costa’s first-half header.

The controversial centre-forward managed to get on the end of Cesar Azpilicueta’s brilliant cross to break the deadlock in a tight London derby.

Costa has now scored 13 times in 17 Premier League games to keep Antonio Conte’s £34m summer signing Batshuayi out of the starting line-up.

However, the Belgium international has made a string of substitute appearances to contribute to Chelsea’s 11-game winning run in the Premier League.

Batshuayi posted the above photo on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption following Chelsea’s 1-0 win at Palace:

“Proud to be a (small) part of the club record, and being top of the league tonight 🙈 incredible achievement from the team & staff #KTBFFH 💙 Good night people!”

Batshuayi moved to Chelsea in a £34m deal from Ligue 1 side Marseille in the summer transfer window following Conte’s appointment as manager.
