Danny Welbeck looks high spirits as the striker closes in on a return to action for Arsenal

Danny Welbeck looked to be in high spirits as he posed for a picture with Aaron Ramsey, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Nacho Monreal over Christmas.

The Arsenal striker is yet to make an appearance for the north London side this season after suffering a serious knee injury towards the end of the last campaign.

Welbeck has endured a frustrating time at Arsenal since his arrival at the club from Manchester United in the summer of 2014 and has seen his playing time restricted due to injury.

However, Arsene Wenger recently confirmed that Welbeck is due to return to action for the north London side in the coming weeks.

And the England international seemed to be in high spirits as he posed for a picture with his Arsenal team-mates ahead of the Boxing Day clash against West Brom.

Oxlade-Chamberlain shared the photo above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “Merry Christmas everyone! 🎄”
