Granit Xhaka says Arsenal will do everything they can to return to winning ways in the Premier League on Sunday
Granit Xhaka has told his Arsenal team-mates to forget about the disappointment of their 2-1 loss to Everton Tuesday night and instead look ahead to their clash with Manchester City on Sunday.
Xhaka started the game at Goodison Park as the Gunners slumped to a disappointing defeat on Merseyside despite taking the lead through Alexis Sanchez’s opener.
The loss was Arsenal’s first defeat in the Premier League since their opening weekend reversal at the hands of Liverpool at The Emirates back in August.
Arsenal must now dust themselves down and prepare for their crunch Premier League clash against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side at The Etihad on Sunday afternoon.
And Xhaka has warned his team-mates that they have no time to dwell on the disappointment of Tuesday’s loss.
Xhaka posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account after Tuesday’s game and wrote the caption: “Sometimes the maximum is not enough. Let’s forget this match and look forward. ★★★ ⚓#GX29 @Premier League @Arsenal @Everton #IWILL #UnderArmour”
Arsenal finished second and without a trophy in the Premier League last term.
