Juan Mata enjoyed some downtime with a trip to Chester on Tuesday as he took his mind off football during the hectic festive period in the Premier League.

Manchester United are currently preparing for their Premier League clash against Middlesbrough at Old Trafford this weekend as Jose Mourinho’s men look to win their fifth game in a row in the top flight.

Mata has been a regular fixture in the Manchester United team this season and has scored three goals and made one assist in 13 Premier League games this term.

Mata played 74 minutes of Manchester United’s 3-1 win over Sunderland on Boxing Day at Old Trafford as Mourinho’s side continued their strong form in the top flight.

And the Spain international used some time off on Tuesday for a trip to nearby Chester.

The playmaker shared the photo above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “#Chester”
