Juan Mata has taken to social media to reveal his delight at seeing Manchester United book their place in the semi-finals of the EFL Cup with a thumping 4-1 win over West Ham United on Wednesday night.

Two goals each from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Anthony Martial secured the Red Devils’ place in the last four of the cup competition and went some way towards easing some of the pressure on Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho’s side have come under scrutiny in recent weeks for their failure to string together consistent performances in the Premier League.

Indeed, the Red Devils have only won one of their last seven Premier League games.

But Mata was clearly feeling in a better mood on Wednesday night, as he posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “Great win boys!! 🔴👏🏻 @manchesterunited with @chapecoensereal”
