Loris Karius takes to social media after Liverpool's 1-0 victory over Everton at Goodison Park
Loris Karius has taken to social media to congratulate his Liverpool team-mates on their 1-0 derby win at Everton and also reacted to the suspected terror attack in Berlin.
Karius was once again dropped to the bench as Simon Mignolet played the full 90 minutes in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.
After a goalless first half on Merseyside, summer signing Sadio Mane netted the winner in stoppage time after Daniel Sturridge’s shot rebounded off the post and into his path.
The win lifted Liverpool up into second place in the Premier League table and six points behind leaders Chelsea heading into Christmas.
Karius was quick to congratulate his team-mates on the win but then also turned his attentions towards paying tribute to the victims of Monday’s horrible events in Berlin, when a lorry ploughed into a Christmas market and killed 12 people.
Karius shared the photo above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “Very important derby win for us tonight…⚽ But my thoughts are with the victims in my homeland Germany 😔 #Berlin #YNWA 🙏”
