The Manchester United defender reflects on his 50th Red Devils appearance

Matteo Darmian has reflected on his 50th appearance for Manchester United after the defender helped the Red Devils ease to a 2-0 win at West Bromwich Albion.

The Italy international started at right-back as goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic either side of half-time to seal a third successive Premier League victory.

Darmian moved to Manchester United in a £12.5m deal from Serie A side Torino under Jose Mourinho’s predecessor Louis van Gaal in the 2015 summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old defender has made eight Premier League appearances in the current campaign despite being linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the summer.

And Darmian posted the above photo on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption on the photo-sharing app:

“Great win at the end of my 50th appearance with the red shirt! Thank you @manchesterunited #MUFC 🔴⚽️”

Manchester United are in sixth place in the Premier League table after collecting nine points from their last three games to put pressure on their top-four rivals.

The Red Devils finished in fifth place in the table last season.
